COMMENTARY
|
- Leave park by main entrace. Cross Street and turn right walking on grass facing traffic, sidwalk starts at the entrace to Veteran's hospital and continue to Main St.
|
IMPORTANT:
Before you start out, please note that in several areas you will be walking in the street. When such is the case, please be sure to walk single file facing traffic using caution. Thank you. |
- Cross Main St (use caution) and proceed straight on Forest St to end.

- Take a left onto Dividend Rd (no sign)
|
|
- Take a right onto Pratt St
|
|
- bear right at intersection with Belden Ln to end.
|
|
- and Cross Glastonbury Ave (no sign) and bear right and immediately follow road around to left.

There is a prota-potti at this location during boating season. Note: the next restrooms are located in the McDonald's restaurant just right of the intersection of Silas Deane Hwy and Parsonage St. IF |

IF you are walking the 10km section only, please skip ahead and continue at "10KM RETURN ROUTE" |
|
- Upon leaving check point, proceed to ferry and cross to So. Glastonbury.
|
Remember: There is a toll of $1.50 round trip for walkers) |
- Get off ferry and proceed straight on Rt 160 (Ferry St.) to end.
|
|
- Turn left and continue on Rt. 160 until you cross the stone bridge. At this point, bear left on Hight Street and continue to Main Street.
|
|
- Turn Right onto Main Street (Rt 17) continue on Main to the intersection of Rt 160.
|
|
- Turn Right onto Rt 160.
|
|
|
CHECK POINT 2: Please record the name of the Wine and Spirit shop on the corner of Rt 17 and Rt 160 on your walk card. |
|
- Return on Rt 160 the ferry and re-cross river.

10KM RETURN ROUTE |
|
- Return on Glastonbury Ave to Riverview Drive
|
|
- Turn right on Riverview Drive (Please walk facing traffic.) continue to stop sign at Main Street (no sign)
|
|
- Turn right on Main Street to Parsonage Street.
|
You will pas the Town Hall on your left. |
- Turn left on Parsonage Street to Silas Deane highway.
|
|
- Cross Silas Deane highway at crosswalk and continue on Parsonage Street to Baily Street.
|
|
- Turn left on Baily Street and continue to end.
|
|
- Turn right on elm Street (winding road) to Gildbert Ave (first street after cemetery)
|
|
- Turn left on Gilbert Avae and continue to end at West Street.
|
|
- Turn left on West Street walking facing traffic and return to start/finish
|
